Intraoral Work
Intraoral work is a specialized manual therapy performed with gloved contact inside the mouth to address the muscles and soft tissues of the jaw, as well as surrounding structures of the face, head, and neck.
It may be helpful for TMJ dysfunction, jaw clenching, headaches, whiplash, sinus issues, tongue mobility restrictions, and recovery from dental or orthodontic procedures.
Sessions may incorporate intraoral (inside the mouth), external techniques, or a combination of both, based on your goals, comfort level, and individual needs. Your comfort, personal boundaries, and ongoing consent guide the work throughout the session.
My approach to intraoral work includes myofascial, lymphatic, and craniosacral techniques. Depending on your needs for the visit, I may use approaches individually or in combination.

Is it legal to work inside of the mouth?
Yes. Intraoral massage may be performed by licensed massage therapists in Washington State who have completed appropriate advanced training and hold the required state endorsement. I hold an intraoral endorsement on my Washington State Massage Therapist license in accordance with WAC 246-830-490 and RCW 18.108.250.
Treatment is always performed with informed consent, gloves, and clear professional boundaries. Clients may choose external-only (outside of the mouth) work at any time.
Does intraoral work hurt?
Intraoral work should not be unbearable or painful.
Some areas may feel tender or sensitive, particularly working with areas of tension or restriction. The mouth, face, and throat can also be areas where people experience vulnerability, sensitivity, or emotional tension.
Your autonomy and safety guide the work.
What if I change my mind during the session?
You may change your mind at any time. You are always in control of your care. Consent can be adjusted, paused, or withdrawn at any point, for any reason, and without explanation. Your boundaries will always be respected.
You may also choose external-only (outside of the mouth) work at any time.
